Visit to the National Rail Museum

On November 26, Members of the Heritage and Photography Clubs of our School went to the National Rail Museum for a Heritage Photo Walk. The Museum focuses on the rail heritage of India and accomodates a fascinating and exotic collection of over 100 real size exhibits of Indian Railways. We discovered a wide range of static and working models, signaling equipments, historical photographs and related literature which are displayed inside the museum. The array of old coaches includes the Prince of Wales SaloonFairy Queen which is considered to be one of the best preserved steam locomotive engines of her age and the Maharaja of Mysore's Saloon with its brocade covered chairs and antique furnitures, to be named a few. We were fortunate enough to have a chance of exploring the royal interiors of these magnificent carriages! Having gathered a lot of technical know-hows about engine meachanisms, types of track gauge and several interetsing facts about the Railways, all of us felt that it was an altogether a very interactive, interesting and a fun-filled experience :)

Have a look at some of the brilliant Photographs clicked by the Sharp Shooters of Sanskriti's Photography Club! Here are a few ... Enjoy!
